4 days until Disney. I have at least one goal.

Well there are four days until Disney and I have decided I want to ride a segway with a cape. This is my newest mission and I hope it will be a success. Short entry I know but the goal is epic enough to deserve its own entry.

Food for thought

Here is a list of foods I'd like to try at Disney World.

Lets start with...
Dessert

Aloha Isle- Dole Whip Soft Serve - Pineapple, vanilla, chocolate or swirl ice cream

Beaches and Cream- Fudge Mud Slide - A gooey, chewy brownie covered with hot fudge, three scoops of Vanilla ice cream, oreo cookies, whipped cream and a cherry.

Coral Reef Restaurant- Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousse - Topped with a ganache and chocolate cigar

Crepes des Chefs de France- Crepes au Chocolat, Confiture de Fraise ou Sucre - Crepes filled with Chocolate, Strawberry preserve or Sugar.

Garden Grove- Dessert (Lunch)- Triple Chocolate Cake - Milk Chocolate Mouse, White Chocolate Mousse Interior, Flourless Cake, chocolate sauce

Happy Landings Ice Cream Shop- Garbage Pail - Layered into a sand pail to be scooped out with a shovel. Chocolate and vanilla ice cream, waffle cone pieces, cookie pieces, sprinkles, hot fudge, caramel sauce, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry. (Sounds fun!)

Hollywood Brown Derby- Hidden Treasures - Vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookie crumbles, Gummy Snakes, and a Toll House cookie.

Planet Hollywood- Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownie - Warm double chocolate brownie with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream.
-Chocolate Cake - A chocolate lover's dream...layers of moist chocolate and creamy frosting served with vanilla ice cream

Plaza Restaurant- Creamy Hand-Dipped Milk Shakes - Ice cream flavors: Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, no sugar added raspberry sherbet, no sugar added butter pecan, or nonfat chocolate-vanilla swirl.

Raglan Road- Dunbrody Kiss - Chef Dundon's gift to America. Chocolate, add chocolate, and then add some more.

Rainforest Cafe at AK- Sparkling Volcano - Enough for two or more. Rich chocolate brownie cake stacked up high, served warm with vanilla ice cream, fresh whipped cream and topped with caramel and chocolate sauces.

Shula's Steak House- Seven Layer Chocolate Cake - Seven Layer Chocolate Cake

Sleepy Hollow- Caramel Corn - Caramel Corn served in a bucket.

Any other Dessert suggestions?

Not much

Not much happening. I finish college for the summer on the 24th. I should really be doing work now... but its too early. I learned I cannot cook pancakes even if the batter is premade. I might try egos depending on the cost... I'm trying to find cheap foods I can rely on for Disney. Oh, my room finally got finished, its mostly purple with bambooish flooring, maybe I'll post pics. For now just a boring life which is fine for me. I'm also thinking about posting a list of foods I want to try in Disney.

19th Birthday

Well today was my 19th Birthday. I had an ice cream cake and got 3 Barbies. I collect barbies by the way. They can set up the most beautiful scenes.
or you can make custom characters like Galia from Star Trek

These are the barbies I got My Melody Pop Life and my FAVORITE Tarina Tarantino

My little bro also got me a 50$ gift card to Gamestop which is impressive because he is only 15.

DISNEY NEWS: It looks like I may be able to get on COBRA for health insurance while I am down at Disney. So it looks like I WILL be going!

Health Insurance

Well I have my loans set. But now my full coverage health insurance may drop me because I won't be a "Full Time Student" for a semester, even though I'm coming back and taking all the classes full time and maybe even full time summer.

So if I get hurt at Disney that means life long injury uninsured, many payments for life on doctor bills. Can anyone help me?

I can't back down now. I told Disney I would be there but I need so many medicines for allergies that I cannot afford without insurance. And say I get a chemical burn from custodial work, I wont be able to afford treatment.

I don't know what to do. I need guidance and prayers.

Things I want to do at Disney

The no BS Roommate Survey

I sound like a bitch but really I just want to feel safe and not be exposed to things like sex, drugs, or drinking. I am not ready to handle that stuff and I want to feel safe while at Disney. If you are okay with these things please contact me because I need a roommate for 9/1

1. If I bring a member of the opposite sex home, will you vacate the room? No, I will expect you NOT to bring them into our room and instead use THEIR room.
2. Apartment nudity. Do you walk around naked a lot? Will you stop? I do not, I will wear tank tops and shorts. Thats as close to nude as I get.
3. We have only one "TV" room. What kind of shows do you watch, how much TV do you watch? I watch Psych which is on once a week and might continue into September. I think thats about it.
4. Do you plan on having many/any sleepovers? How often? No because they are not allowed and I am a rule follower and if you have one I will report you.
5. Do you swear? Can you tolerate swearing? I swear a little and I can tolerate the amount I swear.
6. Speaking of morals, do you have them? How strict? No sex, Drinking, or Drugs. I will report you and may even call the police.
7. Liberal or Conservative? Conservative Tea Partier but overall I hate politics and rather not waste time on them at Disney
8. Are you religious? How religious? Do you care if your roommate isn't? I am a non practicing catholic and I don't care what my roommate is as long as they respect me and my god and I will respect them and theirs, even if it is Athos god of Atheists
9. Talking about sex...does it make you uncomfortable? Yes, its gross and you don't need to share and you don't need it every day of your life.
10. How about jokes about it? Not...that's what she said...I mean real crude humor. Its okay until its TMI
11. Are you easily offended? Not really unless its about being fat or a personal attack.
12. Bathroom habits, are you messy? Smelly? Take forever? Do you leave body hair stuck to the sink and/or drain? I am messy when I get out I have towels around and I take a while because my hair is thick and never wants to let me take the soap out.
13. Do you shower: How often and at what hour? Every morning before work, and since I'm custodial I may need to take one after...
14. Are you sarcastic? Does sarcasm bother you? Not really, and it bothers me
15. Do you need a lot of "alone time" in the room? No
16. If you are fortunate enough to have the opposite gender over, are you or can you be discreet? You know what I'm talking about. I will not be having anyone over because I respect my roommates.
17. Can you keep ^^^^^^^^ in your room? Or are you an exhibitionist? No sex
18. How many people have you killed? None, I feel guilty when I squish a bug...
19. If you won a million dollars while down there...would you treat your roommates :)?? Probably!
20. Will you verify my alibi? No matter what? No, if you did something wrong I will probably report you and even take evidence. I am down there to work and enjoy myself, not take care of you and your vices.

Scholarship Deferral

I got my scholarship deferred! Finally! Now I am officially going to Disney. I wish I had some friends to celebrate with me though. My parents don't really care it feels like and I wish they would be happier, if anything their just concerned I wont survive living with others.

Finding jobs has been hard, I keep applying and I get nothing. I really don't want to go to Disney broke, especially since you don't get your first paycheck for a while and all the deductions. My mother also can't find a job still and my fathers work is having a lot of money issues. I hope getting my foot into Disney that maybe I can become full time and eventually retire from there. I know I speak too soon, I don't even know what Floridians are like community wise and such. I guess I have big dreams.

I still have no roommate offers. I admit it I sound like a creeper on facebook "Hey I saw your survey and I think you could make a great roommate!" I guess that is a little to blunt for some people. I just want a roommate I can feel safe around and will respect me and my stuff. It would be horrible if a roommate ruined my Disney experience especially since this is my first time sharing a room with someone.

I guess I shouldn't worry and just trust that everything will work out.

Schools out for the summer! or at least 2 weeks.

So I had my last final today. My teacher gave me Sabriel to read as a parting gift. She is a wonderful teacher. I have 2 weeks of vacation now until summer classes ugh.

I also talked to the financial aid people about deferring my scholarship and they took my information again, lets hope they use it to contact me this time.

#42... Looks like I'm never going to find a roommate. I got bashed on the DSI boards for being "close-minded" ... I just don't want to watch my roommate have sex or ruin my bed sheets. To me a bedroom is a sacred place especially if you share it. If anyone is going on September 1st and under 21 and fits my roommate part please contact me!

Also no info on deferring the loans yet, school has not gotten back to me.

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Please God, help me.

I went to defer my scholarships today and my school isn't sure they can do that because I wont be earning 6 credits at Disney and even if I took Disney classes they are not sure how to transfer the credits or if they would be worth the same. They let Brianne go last year... they deferred hers... but apparently now its on a "case by case" basis because no one usually goes. So wait... the college is going to ruin my dream? I thought I was going to college so I could be better off and live my dreams. I've worked so hard for this and they are going to "discuss the issue". I hope they know they will crush me if I can't go. They will sentence me to death here. Please God answer my prayers.

Custodial

I got accepted officially today for the Custodial position at Walt Disney World!
I just hope my GPA is over 2.0 because I struggled last semester. I go down August 1st if school doesn't get in the way.

I just got off the phone...

Apparently the Fall Advantage is full up and they where asking if I wanted to do fall! I said yes I was going to ask to change it anyway because I just found out that I had classes through may and maybe the 1st week of June. He said "That answers that question!" and told me to look for an offer in the mail and said...
Congratulations!

I am so excited! I assume this means I'm in! Not sure what role yet but I CAN'T WAIT!

Now for housing... Vista Way or Catham?

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Researching

I have been looking around and researching about housing and I think I like Catham best. Its got less parties and noise then Vista but inst as expensive as Patterson. I think sleep will be the most important factor in surviving long hours.

I'm thinking I will pack 1 suitcase and a backpack. All I need is clothes really, and bathroom things. So I think I can take a jetblue flight (best airline ever).

I really hope I am accepted. I have been working toward an opportunity like this my whole life and I can't believe I made it to the interview even! I'm still in a state of bliss and reading everyone elses blogs.

I hope I get followers soon, I would really like to talk about Disney.

Application Process

So I heard about the Disney College Program while looking at gap year options for a friend. My mother found the DCP and showed me it. My heart was set on it and I wanted to be in it. I took my time learning about it and heard that an Alumni would be presenting at my school so I went. Her name is Bree and she is a former Character Attendant. I knew that I wanted to go to Disney more then ever.

I have been living at home because I can't afford to pay to live at college. I am getting sick of my parents and in the winter we are all at eachothers necks. I think I would benifit greatly from the DCP because THERE IS NO SNOW! And I'LL BE BUSY AND NOT BORED! Also college doesnt seem to be for me... The kids are too rich and pompous to talk to me and very close minded.

Well I filled out the application using safari instead of internet explorer. BAD IDEA. I kept getting a glitch telling me "You did not fill out all the answers" Even though I had. Then came the worst part "Were sorry..." I had FAILED.

I called up the recruiting offices and explained my problem. They where SO SO SO NICE! They listened and reset my application process because I didn't have access to IE. I went to school and took it again and it said I was a "Strong Candidate"! I almost screamed in the computer lab!

The next thing I knew I was home making an appointment for a phone interview. The closest they had was the next week at 11pm. I took it.

The interview went well, I wanted to be a Fairy Godmother in Training but Custodial sounds nice too, or Quick food service. They all sounded fun and I will do anything for a chance to work there and I will do my best at whatever job I get!

Now is the waiting game! I am eagerly checking my mail and email everyday and I am in a blissful state of accomplishment, proud that I even made it this far.
